I love this song for the great bridge and then Peter hitting that cowbell to bring in the chorus. Heck, I think the bridge has better lyrics than the chorus. I believe for all the drums, Peter was put in a bathroom to get the sound the obtained for the recordings. Also of note, Gene is actually playing the rhythm guitar on this one.

I love the driving groove and riffs that give this song a really cool vibe. Peter sings with all he can muster as well as delivers some great drum-fills. This is a shining point for me for Peter. That rough and raw voice gives the song an edge that puts it over the top for me.

The song is simple and to the point and saved by a spirited Ace solo. They have solid, rocking deep cuts. It rocks out and Paul sounds fantastic, guitar work is great, the rhythm section of Gene and Peter brings it home and those loud pounding drums towards the end really set this one apart nicely. I do like this version better than his solo album.

The song is a little repetitive at times which does detract a little. It is mostly acoustic and Peter does a great job and delivers a sweet song.

A pure, energetic rocker with a massively impressive drum roll at the end. This is the type of song that made me love Paul. Ace cranks out a speedy, frantic filled solo and then Peter does his best drumming to end the album on a massive high note! You know I always like an album that ends with a song leaving you wanting more and this does that in spades. I had to deduct a half a point on two songs because although they were decent, they had their flaws, but not enough that I would want to delete them.

The overall album was the most consistent quality album they have had and it did take me back to the rawness of the first few albums which is a welcomed sound always.

And what more could you want. I really like this album and Take Me - Kiss - Rock And Roll Over (Vinyl am giving it a 4. If you want to sit back and rock out, this is the album to pull out and give it a spin. In fact, go do that now. Like Liked by 1 person. All solid tracks and one of their strongest overall. Glad they got back to just straight up rock. Wicked writeup John. On any given day this album may be my favourite overall.

Definitely in my top 3 Kiss studio albums. Side 1 is great but Side 2 is just stellar. It is has grown in me over the years to become a favorite as well.

Not sure yet on where I would place it. Full marks for me. Baby Driver is a one of my fave Criss tunes. I think one of the kids on Roseanne had it hanging in their room. But cool if he did. Anthrax stole the cover for one of their albums as well. It is one of the best covers for Kiss. I used to watch it as a kid. Yep, Anthrax used it for a live show they did in Scotland.

Like Like. I prefer raw Kiss. Funny but we have very different reactions on two songs: Baby Driver and Mr. You are commenting using your WordPress. One can't help but imagine a toddler at the wheel of a brand-new pedal car as he tries his best to maneuver around the driveway. So basic, yet so effective, and SO addictive.

This track, back-to-back with "Mr. Speed" are the best tracks found LP the album, spoiling the listener with their pop perfection. Even if the next, "See You in Your Dreams", fails to match the bold, standout quality of the others, it certainly doesn't disappoint.

One only wishes it was a little bit longer. The tenth and final track, "Makin' Love", is really the only track that fails to hold up with the rest. Although filled with energy, it results in a repetitive, fade-out closer. The only real con is that this album's too short: 33 minutes is just NOT enough. This was a good idea as I don't think trying to top Destroyer would have been as successful. What they came up with instead is yet another KISS classic and features in my opinion their best album cover.

This vinyl sounds absolutely incredible! Good, loud, deep bass I do have a subwoofer and the mix with guitars and vocals is very good, for sure. This is one of my favorite KISS albums and it sounds better than ever on this vinyl! Greatest kiss album they have made! Brings back memories of when I was a teen everytime I listen to this album!

Summers off, skateboarding, riding my bmx bike with friends, Atariall the simple good times you did when you grew up in late 70's. Speed is a legendary hit!

One of the greatest rock bands in this history of rock n roll! I could never pick a favorite KISS album by the original four, but this is a candidate. I think it was the height of their skills coming together. Straight-ahead, catchy rock n roll with that raw energy. Too bad they had such internal issues that derailed them and ultimately broke them up.

At least they left behind some great 70s rock! Side note. Amazon should protect CDs better when shipping. My case was a wreck and I had to put the cd in a new one. I've been a Kiss fan since this album's release, Album). I think that this is the very best album of all time.

This album really rocks and I believe that it's timeless. As the years passed I've owned the album, several cassettes that I had to keep buying because I would wear them out, and cds. I obviously have it on iphone and ipod. It's a great album and the guys were very tight in their playing. Just as good today as it was back in the day. As always the good ol rock and roll. They call them classics now but I remember a time when they were new.

I guess I'm a classic too. Haha The 60's through the 80's are hard to beat and haven't seen it done yet. What do you think? One of the best studio records that kicks ass Features Dr. Lover IT. See all reviews from the United States. Top international reviews. Translate all reviews to English. One person found this helpful. Thank you for your feedback.

Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again. This a a cracking album I bough as a result of having all previous Kiss albums. It probably marks the end of their Glam-Rock phase and introduces the fan to their heavier material found on Love Gun although Destructor is heavier. Love", and "Love em and Leave em". Probably one of the best KISS albums you can buy.

It's got that classic 70s rock sound. Love", "Hard Luck Woman" and "Mr. A great overall rock album. The finest Kiss Studio Album period. Sounds amazing on these recent vinyl reissues. Great album, I had this in red vinyl. Load more LP reviews. I'll be honest, I don't own this actual CD yet, but I know all the songs. I don't understand anyone saying it's not as good as Destroyer.

A masterpiece? How can you honestly sit there and say a masterpiece would contain such complete rubbish as "Flaming Youth", "Sweet Pain" and "Great Expectations"? Too many KISS fans got too caught up in the hysteria surrounding the band between '74 and '77 and failed to notice that half the songs they were putting out were sub-standard pop-songs.

Comments such as "Destroyer is a masterpiece" and "Kiss never get soft" scroll down are jokes. Or stupidity. One or the other. Doesn't mean they're bad songs, obviously. Just means such a statement is moronic. Fact remains, the supposed 'masterpieces' are patchy at best. Especially Destroyer, which only has four truly great songs on it. The three heaviest KISS albums. If anyone ever says any of those three albums is bad, kick them very hard and explain to them that face-paint isn't cool, but hard rock music is.

After the Alive I album sweeps the world and Destroyer makes them the darlings of radio Kiss follow with Take Me - Kiss - Rock And Roll Over (Vinyl consistently strong album, I Want You and Makin Love are more live show gems to add to the ever growing list, Hard Luck Woman hammers home the trail forged by Beth until even you mother likes Kiss songs even if they're a bit naughty, this is not a band anymore it's a juggernaut and the merchandising empire has begun to hit full swing, Ace and Peter have fully reached equal status and this group have seemingly no limits to their abilities and material.

Rocking little record. Lots of fun tracks. All killer. Even the Gene tracks are good, which is a pleasant change from Destroyer. You'll just keep listening to the songs on this one. Calling Dr. Love, Mr.
